Pier: Seal Beach has the second-longest wooden pier in California. The original construction of the pier took place in the early 1900's. Two sections were destroyed by a storm in 1980, and the pier was rebuilt.
Parks: As of May 2013, 18 parks were operated on a total area of 75.45 acres. There are four Community Centers and one Tennis Center. One Gymnasium (indoor sports facility) is also available.

Did you know that Seal Beach was originally known as Bay City? However, there was already a Bay City in Northern California. The town was originally named Seal Beach when it was incorporated on October 25, 1915.
