The location is on the coast between Huntington Beach and Long Beach, about 28 miles east from Los Angeles.

Airport: Seal Beach is served at the Long Beach Airport, the John Wayne (Orange County), and Los Angeles International Airports (LAX). Seal Beach lies 7 miles north from LGB, 22 mi north of SNA, and 27 miles south at LAX.
Seal Beach covers 13.1 square miles. This area is 11.3 square miles in land, and 1.8 square mile is water.
Beach: 1.5 mile stretch of beach from 1st Street to Surfside
Pier: Seal Beach has the second-longest wooden pier in California. The original construction of the pier took place in the early 1900's. Two sections were destroyed by a storm in 1980, and the pier was rebuilt.
Parks: As of May 2013, 18 parks were operated on a total area of 75.45 acres. There are four Community Centers and one Tennis Center. One Gymnasium (indoor sports facility) is also available.

Rainfall: On average, 14 inches of rain per year
Temperature: The average temperature is between 70° F in summer and 55° F in winter
Population: According to the 2010 census, 24,168 people live in this country.

City Council: There are five members to the Seal Beach City Council. Each year, Seal Beach's mayor will be chosen from the City Council members.

Did you know that Seal Beach was originally known as Bay City? However, there was already a Bay City in Northern California. The town was originally named Seal Beach when it was incorporated on October 25, 1915.
